When uploading your files, the preferred format is a vector image. There are basically two different ways
a computer creates a graphic image – Rastor or Vector.
Rastor Image - a rastor image, also known as a bitmap, is a graphic that is created by combining a series
of dots called pixels. When increasing the size of the pixels to make a large printed sign the edges of the
graphic become jagged or saw-toothed and do not provide the desired quality. If this is the only file type
available the highest resolution possible (highest number of pixels) is desired. Common rastor file types
are extensions like: .bmp, .jpg, .tif, .gif
Vector Image (preferred file format) – a vector image is a graphic that creates it's shape with points, lines
and curves that can be enlarged or reduced without losing resolution, thus providing flexibility in scaling
to make your signs as big or small as necessary and maintaining the clarity desired. Common vector file
types are extensions like: .eps, .ai, .cdr, .pdf (if the .pdf was created from a .eps).
